The Malta Financial Services Authority (“MFSA”) has published on 3th April 2019 an updated version of the Conduct of Business Rulebook (“Rulebook”). This Rulebook contains the Conduct of Business Obligations to which the Regulated Persons would be required to adhere in their day to day operations. The following main changes have been carried out to the original version of this Rulebook:

MFSA has incorporated in the Rulebook the PRIIPs Regulation (Regulation (EU) No. 1286/2014);

New definitions have been added to the Rulebook, namely “PRIIP Manufacturer”, “Bundled package”, “Tied package”, “Component product” and the “Distributor” definition has been amended in line with MiFID II;

New requirements have been added in a reflection with the requirements of The European Securities and Markets Authority Guidelines on cross-selling practices.
